The Shelter

SHave you ever been able to see the world

From other’s point of view or is it just your

Eternal clashes with everybody else

I built a green house of windows and frames

Sowed the seeds, watched them grow

My little sanctuary, a shelter, if not

           Then maybe, just maybe

Have you ever been able to really hear

What people say, tried to understand

I guess it’s comfortable to be so thick

I built a family from untouchables

Only for a second I thank you for your wilful neglect

If for nothing, it has taught me some respect

You’re the reason why I hide and keep my head down low

On your conscience hangs a tonnage were you able to know

Perfectly beautiful and logical

Is the circle of inherited sin

The child who grew up to be an adult

Who’s still a child within cannot break the chain
